When you have a premature baby you are catapulted into a whole new experience, one that is frightening and very alien to most of us. Very often you don’t knowanybody else who has had a premature baby and this can compound the feeling of isolation that you already feel.
Irish Premature Babies is about supporting parents who have preterm babies and also to help parents connect with a kindred spirit, to one who really knows what it’s like to have a premature baby.
We have a number of parents who have kindly offered to share their experience of having a premature baby. We hope, that by reading these very special stories, that you might find some comfort, strength and hope and that if you are going through the NICU experience now or even if your baby is home, you can connect with aspects of other parents' experience and realise you are not alone.
Sadly as some of you know, parents do suffer the tragic loss of their baby. Two amazing mothers have written a beautiful piece about their babies.
If you would like to share your experience, please get in touch via our contact section of the website here.
